David I. Roth brings more than 40 years in private practice to Barnes & Barnes PC. He focuses on a broad array of legal matters including real property transactions, estate planning, banking, landlord tenant, and litigation.
Mr. Roth has extensive experience representing sellers and buyers of small and large businesses; residential and commercial real estate sales, purchases, and leases; and land use and zoning. He has provided counsel to publicly traded companies and commercial real estate entities regarding preparation of offering plans and prospectuses. In connection with franchised business offerings, he has advised both franchisors and franchisees, and regularly consults with business owners to draft, review, and negotiate all types of contracts. His diverse experience has included negotiating executive employment and severance agreements for high level professional and corporate executives; representing both lenders and borrowers in financial transactions; and providing legal advice and guidance on estate planning to families and individuals.
Mr. Roth has drafted shareholder/partnership and operating agreements as well as matters of governance with respect to corporations, general and limited partnerships, and limited liability companies. He also serves as General Counsel to several prominent New York-based corporations. In that capacity, he advises the board of directors and senior management on legal risks regarding regulatory compliance, employment issues, strategic planning, and operations.
For many years Mr. Roth served his community as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Town of Babylon including a stint as its chairman from 1988 to 1991. Currently, he serves as Special Counsel to the Village of Babylon and its Zoning Board of Appeals.
